Amarula!

Can you believe that this year is nearly over? Where did the days, the hours, the minutes, and the seconds go?!!? I’m not one to make New Year’s Resolutions. How about you? Have you made your list?

What beverage do you usually have to close off the old year and welcome in the new year? I’ve seen some really great recipes available online. We, however, are not big drinkers (nor are we teetotalers). It has taken us almost a year, to get through a bottle of Amarula Cream Liqueur. ‘Amarula’?  If  you’ve never tried it, then you really have to! Pure lekkerness (is there even such a word?) in a bottle!

If you have tried it before, then of course, you will know exactly what I’m talking about! If  you haven’t, then make sure you get yourself a bottle.

Amarula Liqueur is made from the marula fruit. It is said that animals get drunk eating the fruit which falls to the ground, and ferments naturally.

Marula (Sclerocarya birrea), is a medium-sized tree, indigenous to  Southern and West Africa, and Madagascar. The tree is a single stemmed tree with a wide spreading crown. It can grow up to 18 m tall. The fruit is used to make the liqueur – Amarula.
