New Recipe: Oven Roasted Wine Sesame Drumsticks

This month I will be sharing two chicken drumstick recipes – they are usually quick to prepare, cook and eat! Hope that you will enjoy making them, and eating them too!

Servings: 1 – 2

Cooking time: 35-45 minutes

oven temperature: 190C

Oven Roasted Wine Sesame Drumsticks



  • 2 – 3 cloves of fresh garlic, peeled
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small sweet bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 – 4 drumsticks
  • 1 tablespoon of white sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • seas salt and ground black pepper for seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of mixed dried herbs
  • 1/4 cup of dry white wine


  1. Preheat oven to 190C
  2. Rinse the chicken drumsticks under running water
  3. Pat dry with thick paper towel
  4. Place drumsticks into an oven proof roasting dish
  5. In a separate bowl/jug, mix the wine, olive oil and sesame oil
  6. Season the chicken with salt, pepper and mixed herbs
  7. Add the garlic cloves,  chopped onion and sliced peppers to the roasting pan
  8. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the chicken
  9. Now pour the wine mixture over and leave to marinate in the fridge for 10 – 15 minutes, whilst the oven heats up
  10. Remove from fridge and place into the centre of the preheated oven
  11. Bake at 190C until cooked through (roughly 45 minutes)
  12. If you prefer a crispy drumstick, then return to oven, turn temperature up to 200C for about another 5-10 minutes
  13. Remove carefully from oven and serve on a bed of rice, with potatoes or a salad
  14. Enjoy!
