Happy Gluten-free Valentine’s Day!

Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or not, here’s wishing you a wonderful day!

I was inspired by a gorgeous looking recipe that I saw on Brianna’s site,



I made a couple of tweaks (of course – I’m terrible like that!) and here is my version.

Gluten-free Red Velvet ‘Mug’ Cake

2heart cakes

(gluten-free, wheat free, oat free, egg free, dairy free, soy free, nut free)


  • 5 1/2 Tablespoons of AP gluten-free flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
  • a pinch of sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons of sunflower oil
  • 4 Tablespoons of non-dairy milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red rice powder colouring
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon



This is how I made it

  1. Β I placed all the ingredients into a jug
  2. Mixed with a spoon
  3. Poured into cute heart shaped microwave safe bowls
  4. Baked for 1.30 seconds on 100%
  5. Removed from the microwave
  6. Allowed to cool slightly, then served
