Refreshing Flavoured Water

The latest craze seems to be flavoured water. Although this is nothing new to me, since I’ve been making my own variation for years – there are many different delicious options available.

The first ‘recipe’ for this very hot month of August, is a cool, icy, refreshing drink!

What’s your favourite flavour combination?

Peachy Lemon Infused Water

(naturally gluten-free, egg free, corn free, soy free, dairy free, nut free, sesame free and allergy friendly)

This really doesn’t need a recipe, but here is how I usually make mine.

I didn’t want complicated flavours, and so only used two fruits – peach and lemon.

This fruit infused water can be kept refrigerated for a couple of days, but keep in mind that the fruit will soften, and start to break up. Also, some fruit will turn bad quickly.  I prefer to make a fresh batch every day.

You could try vegetables and fruit, just don’t overload the ingredients, since this is a drink, and not a salad.

This is what you’ll need:

Peel and wash the fruit that you’ll be using.  I don’t peel the lemon, as I enjoy it with the peel.

Place fruit into a pitcher; glass or bottle.

Fill with icy water, or room temperature filtered water and then top with ice cubes. Allow to stand in the fridge for an hour or two.

If you’re making this drink to enjoy immediately, then place ice cubes into a tall glass. Add the fruit. Pour in icy water. Wait a few minutes, for the flavours to infuse. Drink and enjoy!

If you’re taking your water with you on an outing, place in a freezer for 30 minutes to an hour, remove and enjoy an icy cool drink.
