Seriously, Celiac Disease – Celiac Awareness Month

How seriously do you take Celiac Disease? May is Celiac Awareness month, and here is another article that is worth reading about, and of course, sharing.

With Celiac Disease and gluten-free living very much in the news these days, how does one take it seriously? There are people who sadly make fun of an auto-immune disease, or think that it is just a fad diet to eat gluten-free.

Having lived gluten-free for twenty years now, I can tell you – it is not a joke! Many of us have faced challenges, from our families, friends, colleagues, strangers, and even doctors.

Do you talk about having a gluten sensitivity, or gluten intolerance, or celiac disease? Do you share your knowledge and experiences? How do others respond?

  1. My daughter lives glutenfree for a year now. She suffered like hell before. Now she not only got rid of suffering she also feels a lot better all over. But she still experiences that many people over here don’t know what to make of it. Still on a mission.

    1. Thank you for commenting, Erika. It is a constant challenge it seems, to be gluten-free (whether by choice, or having celiac disease, or gluten sensitivity). It’s great that your daughter is feeling well!
