The Silk Road – Architecture

I was really excited about today’s photography challenge – Architecture.  On our roadtrip, we saw so many beautiful sights, and had so many wonderful, scary, and weird experiences, but one thing that stuck out for me, was the unusual architecture that we saw.  No matter how small the community, they still took pride in their houses and buildings, and used traditional methods to design and build their structures.  I had too many photos to choose from, but the one building that I really found so fascinating, was on the Silk Road.

It was a really cold winter’s day when we ventured out to explore the streets of Hami. It was great weather for indoor sight-seeing.  I do not proclaim to be a history buff, but I do find cultures other than my own interesting, and where ever possible, try to experience more of a particular culture. Museums are a good place to start.

I found the architecture of the building far more interesting than the displays inside.
